Megan coaching. Elliot
Where is the group now? Sam being pulled lots of ways. Still visiting LUNA (bringing cookies). Brigetta. Probably nobody can provide the leadership Nick has provided.
See developmental pathway at collegiate ministries. Maybe Elliot is going from guest to apprentice.
Elliot might be a great person to help with the diversity group. Maybe read "Absolutely True Diary" with him.
How to build trust, loyalty with Sam. I don't want to be just another person who wants a piece of him, who wants to take from him. Are their ways to help him. Time-management. Gathering.
Alumni form. See CD document as well as gdoc.
5/31/16 w/ Ryan Lospaluto
12%-13% of alumni give. 22 million in giving.
Funding gap 10-12 mil. /year.
Campus/Chapter account. Sustainable and flexible.
Team MPD, raising $ for chapter accounts.
Allows us to hire network-challenged staff.
4 phases:
1. grad seniors,
2. parents
3. older alumni
4. local churches -- may not get to this one.
1. We are failing in MPD for them. Stop the gap first. [but, they don't have jobs for many years]
-- doing good MPD with grad. seniors. (ask, fup, communicate)
-- creating chapter cultures that produce generous and joyful givers (students know how the ministry is funded, teaching on stewardship, senior programming). Senior retention is low in IV.
Will have some agenda from monthly calls. Need to establish a rhythm of communication and follow up.
Ryan was at Marquette.
1st call.
Organizing data.
Going to a CRM, SalesForce. (sales force
4 phases of a chapter account (above).
Track data.
Exit interviews.
Direct ask for the chapter account specifically. Scripts. Emory.
Goal to meet with each one.
Thank yous at chapter camp -- accomplishes several things, including helping students understand $ needs.
senior banquet
stewardship content for the fall. The more structures stewardship is talked about the more they engage.
SG stewardship application.
conference on stewardship in Milwaukee -- speaker on Free -- possibly Winter Conference.
2nd call.
debrief grad asks
what structures for doing stewardship content -- I suggested Friday lunch discussion.
days wage. 3 option of getting into the habit of giving to IV. They give a ton of time and energy, why not engage them in giving resources. Ideas: Chapter bank account, give something at NSO (buy them something for follow-up) overfunding allows us to be generous. [[ idea for giving freshmen t-shirts or some other gift -- lets supercharge generosity]], chapter scholarship, $10/month to a chapter account goal per student, [[this would be a great way to ramp up for the fall -- maybe a "welcome to LU" gift]],
-- so, days wage or some other student giving program. [[maybe a pay it forward idea, maybe welcome to LU pack]]
-- communication with alumni. What do alumni want to hear? They typically don't want to hear about what staff are doing, they want to hear about the chapter and transforming campus and things they remember. What experiences are students having now that transfer back to earlier students. U of I 20k coming into chapter account. Same letter for parent MPD -- also about the students. Blue Ridge does a lot of parent MPD. Ask students in Oct. if you can send their parents a letter. Before Thanksgiving break, send the parents a letter (give prayer requests, etc.).
