4 best strategies/modules/ best practices (coaching for sg calls to faith,
Threshholding events? NSO 30 seconds (winsome invitations?)
Have to do pre-work for coaching so you aren't just showing up to supervise. Fist to five to coach on a pitch to athletes,
1. winsome invitation. multiply bright spot, doesn't stick as a one and done. -- they might need additional training (see flywheel). "Every member a winsome inviter." We don't have as much influence about what our members do (just leaders). Did this at a LG meeting, not just a leaders meeting. Is member the right target? Winsome inviter can recruit to all things, invitational culture. A life skill. Learning to recruit, but really about the value of influence. (fine line for manipulation, but our students don't influence well). Winsome inviter as a practical way to do influence. How to get this in the member rank? [training right in LG?]. K: 25% maybe are better (culture change takes 2 years). What do you need to make Strat. 1 better? Smaller chunks? 30 min. not 2 hours. Breaking down and compressing the training. 30 second script, 15 second and 20 second script. Worksheet of included parts, some sort of fill in the blank thing. Chr. wish list: there is a FUP issue that exists with all these people we are inviting, maybe we need a nod to FUP. K: contact card, "don't follow up" box. Broad sweep looking for 16%. Contact card. several people have good ones.
tools are in accelerate, these projects on are A.
Winsome invites & culture change. Pump vision of inviting non-Christian friends. 2+ super important, part of module 1. Start 2+ "winsome invitation" rather than "winsome vision". 30 second vision cast, but they don't know how to change it into an invitation. "Share your 30-second invitation."
What about some good invitations into GIGs (like the new 2100 gigs).
At Urbana one of the speakers threw "winsome evangleism" phrase under the bus.
2. Strategy SG. Every SG a witnessing community. get people in and call to faith.
Taking SG from private place to public place.
A: bright spots on SG. 5 Th survey to get people in SGs. Story of commuter SG on res. campus. Muslim, atheist, Jew
A: this is the only one that worked. They didn't want to use the card, chickened out. Sometimes people choose to be a SG leader because they don't want to be an evanglists.
K: bad story. 5 T survey, went out in pairs. One brought a woman back with them. She was praying for someone to find her. FUP she wouldn't come back. Just because a person has a great conversation doesn't mean she is interested in a SG. That's why Jamie brouht people to play Apples to Apples. Get them connected immediately to a Bible study. SG and fun come to you.
Wish list for strategy 2.
There are a lot of parts to this module (26), hospitality culture, collecting, call to faith (split into 3). subdivide strat. 2 into several parts.
You have to be welcomed into whatever you are inviting into. 5T-fun-group study
[maybe this for Friday lunch disco]
V. hard to change the culture of SGs.
Creativity, Inc. book, Pixar, mine for candor. We need to look for feedback for "my precious."
[do you want some candor on Flywheel?]
App for reveal card. (the 5th card)
Boil down basic concepts into principles
CH: run the module, you are trained, done. The coaching model is better than the training model. The training is the easiest part.
3. Every new believer
K: Louise needed to have a better winsome invite.
A: Christian. another story about him. 3 week program for new believer. Sharing testimony. C needed help teaching. A needed to ask Camille probing questions. She invited Abby. She also has a GIG, sharing her story. Outreach coordinator. Mentor new Christians and help them plant GIGs.
Why does this work?
4. take your structures and bend them [to what?] to integrate strategies
1. GIG guides most useful
[4 week new believer grow strategy booklets -- maybe what she needs is to tell her story, that will turn the wet cement of faith into. GROW is well-balanced.
